Mission Statement:

The mission of Handi-Capable Hands, Inc. is to provide jobs, skills and hope through supportive employment for our developmentally challenged Associates, thereby giving them meaning and purpose while providing our customers with top quality service.

History - Our Story:

In 1981, the loving families of former students of RISE Learning Center, a center for physically and mentally disabled children, discovered the need for a center that would bring together people with disabilities and jobs they were qualified to complete.  Even though RISE had helped these young adults receive their vocational training, they were quick to discover that job opportunities were limited.

Thus the idea for HANDI-CAPABLE HANDS, INC. was born (formerly Southside Work Center).  For over 25 years, our sheltered workshop has provided a place where the developmentally delayed can use their skills in a loving, low-stress and protected environment.  As Associates of Handi-Capable Hands, ours workers find enhanced self-worth and dignity.  Simply put, they are proud of the real and quality work they produce. This, combined with a communal atmosphere with their peers, where they are accepted whole-heartedly, gives our Associates purpose, financial and emotional well being, and a place to socialize.
